Step 1: Remove Old Batting Tape
- Take off old batting tape and throw away.
Step 2: Clean Wood Bat Handle
- Lay out towel over work space.
- Grab old rag and nail polish remover.
- Dab a small amount of nail polish remover on to wrag.
- Wipe off remaining residue from bat
- Re-apply nail polish remover until all residue is removed.
- Once all residue is removed wipe off the bat handle with your towel.
- Grab old rag and dab on a small amount of rubbing alcohol onto the rag.
- Wipe bat handle area and then dry with towel.
Step 3: Add new Batting Grip
- Grab and unwrap Lizard Skin Batting Tape.
- Set aside the finishing grip (Small piece of extra batting tape)
- Remove paper backing of batting tape tip (only 8 -10 in for now) and place it up against the knob of the wood bat.
- Place batting tape tip as flat as possible against the knob of the wood bat.
- Begin wrapping tape around the circumference of the wood bat overlapping the tape by about 1/4 of an inch.
- (Wrap over the second row of dimples to help keep your wrapping even)
- Wrap until you reach your paper backing the take off another 8-10 in of paper backing.
- Once all the batting tape is set take the finishing grip and secure the batting tape by wrapping it around the end of your batting tape.
Your WOOD BAT is Now RETAPED, and READY to USE!
